- The Original Version(s) (V1.0+V1.2) would ONLY work on certain sound cards
- (some Soundblaster compatible).Different Sound configurations offset code in
- memory in different ways (depending on your drivers and their size plus the
- code to run them with the game).Because of this the normal scheme the Trainer
- uses to determine "Where" certain game code exists failed in these cases and
- produced code changes where they shouldn't have been.

- Now the Trainer gets the locations to make changes to right from the Game's
- Code.This should correct the problem.(I have only been able to test it on the
- Sb compatibles and 2 MIDI cards).It should work for all the others as well.The
- rest of the Trainer remains the same.

- IMPORTANT VERSION NOTES
-
- There are 3 versions of Darksun out at the moment.V1.0s of the Trainer WILL
- work fine on the first 2 versions.The original and the second bug fix release
- (the one that didn't work!) are the first 2 versions of Darksun.Each DSUN.EXE
- file for these 2 versions is 615,392 bytes long.Use DSUNTSR.COM on these and
- you will have to make NO CHANGES to TRAINER.BAT.Also use DS-PAT.COM only if you
- need to make an I/O patch for the Trainer to work.

- For the latest version of Darksun which is supposed to correct the Fatal Final
- Battle Crash the DSUN.EXE file is 610,944 bytes long.Use DSUNTSR2.COM on this
- version ONLY!If you want to use the TRAINER.BAT file use a text editor such as
- DOS EDIT.COM and EDIT TRAINER.BAT.Change each instance of DSUNTSR to DSUNTSR2
- or just rename DSUNTSR2.COM DSUNTSR.COM if you do have this version.You won't
- need V1.0s of the Trainer anyway in this case.

- I am sorry for any confusion this may cause and also for the delay of this
- Trainer(s).I wanted to wait until the game was finished and release the best
- possible Trainer(s) for whatever were the current versions of the game.Also
- to save you from making an mistakes the files needed for the latest version
- of DSUN.EXE (610,944 bytes) are in the file UPDATE.ZIP.If you don't need them
- don't clutter up the directory with them.

- For the rest of this .NFO file I just refer to DSUNTSR.COM as the Trainer file
- .If you are using V1.2 just substitute DSUNTSR2.COM in it's place if you have
- not already renamed the file.

- THE TRAINER :

- What is a Trainer?It's an Interactive Utility that "Hides" in memory that
- allows you to get the "Upper Hand" in those often too-Tough Games.It may
- even,in some cases,make the game more challenging for you "True" gameplayers.
- In either case it is my hope to enhance the Enjoyment of playing these games
- through the use of my utilities.

- The Trainer (Either Loader-TSR or TSR) loads itself into memory and interfaces
- itself into the Game Code.Once the game is running you can access the Trainer
- via "Hot-Key" Trainer Functions that will alter the Game Data/Code in memory
- as it is running.These functions allow you to change the "Rules" of the game to
- ,hopefully,allow you to enjoy it even more.

- Note that this Trainer is slightly different than ones I have written in the
- past.Due to some problems with the normal Loader/TSR and the Save Games in
- DARKSUN I choose to present this Trainer in this straight TSR format.This means
- that when you run the Trainer you will be brought back to DOS after the Trainer
- opening Trainer screens (it will tell you it is INSTALLED).From there you will
- have to load the game yourself (or use the enclosed BATCHFILE.See BATCHFILE
- NOTES below).When the game is completed you will also have to Remove the
- Trainer from memory to avoid any possible conflicts with another application.

- BATCHFILE NOTES :
-
- For your ease I have altered the DARKSUN.BAT file to include the Trainer TSR
- load command and the command to remove it from memory upon the game's exit.The
- new batchfile is called TRAINER.BAT.You can simply type TRAINER in the DARKSUN
- directory and the Trainer will load and the game will load through the
- batchfile after that.At the end of the batch file the Trainer is removed from
- memory.

- HOW TO : (TRAINER)

- Copy the Trainer files into your Darksun game directory.Switch to the Darksun
- game directory and TYPE DSUNTSR.You will see the opening Network Trainer screen
- .Press any key and you will be presented with a screen reminding you of the
- various Trainer Functions.Press any key again and you will be brought back to
- the DOS prompt (if you are not using the enclosed TRAINER.BAT file).You have to
- load the game yourself from here.When the game finishes remember to Remove the
- Trainer from memory by TYPING DSUNTSR -R (again if you are using TRAINER.BAT
- this is not needed.)

- During the game use the following Key Combinations to your advantage :
-
- (Note : When the word GREY is used it is used to describe the GREY Colored
- keys (on most systems) such as the keys around the Number Pad and keys like
- CAPSLOCK,PAUSE,SCROLL LOCK,HOME,END etc.)
-
- F7 - Press this key to Activate the Unlimited Hit Points Mode.While this mode
- is ON your Party will never lose any HP's.Press it again to turn it OFF.
-
- F8 - Press this Key to Activate the Unlimited Psionics Mode.This mode will
- allow your Party to use thier Psionic skills without losing any PSI
- points.Press this key again to De-activate the function.
-
- F9 - Press this key and your Party will have Unlimited GOLD(c.p.'s).Press it
- again and the game will subtract from your total cp's as before.
-
- F10 - Press this key and you will turn ON the Unlimited Spells Mode.While this
- mode is on you will have an unlimited number of Cleric or Mage spells at
- your disposal.Press this Key again to De-Activate it.
-
- GREY PLUS (+) - Press this key and it will Restore each member of the Party
- to "OKAY".This will work even if they are DEAD.They will come
- back to Normal on their next turn.
-
- GREY ASTERIK (*) - Press this key and it will Restore each Party Member's
- Current Hit Points and Psionic Points back to their Maximum.
-
- GREY MINUS (-) - Press this key to give each member of the Party 300,000 EXP
- points.This will be enough to raise them all to Level 9.The
- game will recognize these usually after Combat and upgrade
- each Character accordingly.
-
- BACKSLASH (/) - When you press this key you will give the Party 1,000,000 cp's.
-
- PERIOD (.) - Hit this key and all the Party Member's Stats will be increased to
- 25.
-
- LEFT BRACKET ([) - Pressing this key will give the Party Member's 500 Current
- and Maximum Hit Points Points.
-
- RIGHT BRACKET (]) -Hit this key and it will give each Party Member 500 Current
- and 500 Maximum Psionic Points.
-
- SEMI-COLON (;) - Pressing this key will give all Party Members ALL the Cleric
- and Mage Spells.You cannot access higher level Spells if
- you Charcater Level isn't high enough.(Ex. a Level 1 Cleric
- cannot use Level 5 spells).Also this function gives you 255 of
- Each type (if applicable) to use at your disposal.

- APOSTROPHE (') - Press this key to give your Party ALL the available Psionic
- Skills.You will still be able to Improve them.

- NOTES :

- Every now and then a Character will be Charmed or Held and the Restore
- Condition Function (GREY PLUS) will not work on the first try.This seems to
- have somethnig to do with the # of moves for each Character and the internal
- system used to shuffle the Turns for each Character.
-
- As mentioned before when you toggle the 300,000 Experience points the game
- does not recognize them (other than visually) them until after you have done
- something that would normally award you EXP points (Like Combat).Then it will
- advance each Character level by level until they reach level 9.Along the
- way each Character will be allowed to choose new Psionic Skills and Spells
- as Applicable.

- If you have given your Charcaters the 500/500 Hit points with the Trainer but
- have NOT reached Level 9 yet you will have the Maximum # of HP's reduced for
- some unknown reason when you advance Levels.Just Toggle Left Bracker ([) again
- to restore it to 500/500.

- You may notice that some Psionic Skills can be used only once and then you
- have to Rest to gain them back again.With the All Psionic Skills Toggle
- (APOSTROPHE ') you can use these skills over and over,but you have to toggle
- this Function each time as needed.

- OTHER TRAINER FUNCTIONS :

- To manipulate the Keybeep the PC Speaker makes on Trainer Functions :

- F11 - Press F11 for a Higher pitched keypress feedback.
-
- F12 - Press F12 for a Lower pitched keypress feedback.
-
- S - Toggle ON/OFF the keypress feedback from the PC Speaker.
-
- Press these keys any time or as many times as needed to get the desired
- effect.Also note that for Trainer functions that Toggle ON/OFF the ON keypress
- will always be a LOW pitch then a HIGHER pitched tone and the OFF will be
- the reverse (a HIGH pitched tone with and immediate LOWER pitched tone).

- TSR COMMAND LINE FUNCTIONS :

- This Trainer is a little different that my usual work.It is a stright TSR
- (Terminate and Stay Resident) program.It won't load the game for you like some
- other Trainer I have written.This also means that when the game ends the
- Trainer will still be in memory.Here are the Command line functions you can
- use with the Trainer :
